Pardubice Friday afternoon

Gabi's hometown team won the National Championships in Hockey while we were here.  Her brother  in law is a goalie for the team.

Gabi's nephew who will is 14.

They are opening a new Scout facility in Pardubice we went there but it wasn't open. The gate was.....at least when we walked in.  It was closed when we headed out!  They had to unlock the gate for us to leave!

Here we are at the scout facility....unaware that they were locking us in!

This was through an alley and back into a dark dingy Army shop to find scout stuff. They didn't have much.

The alley we walked down to find the Army shop.

Headed to Pardubice Castle.

At the fountain.

View of Pardubice from the back.

Wildlife near the castle.

Another view of the back of the buildings in Pardubice.

Gabi isn't here to translate this.  I'll have her update later.....I have no idea what it says.

Peacocks walk around the palace grounds and sit in the trees.

The side view of the castle with the peacocks on the wall.

Us at the castle.

I don't ever remember seeing a white peacock.

The one day of rain....it was looming in the background.

Another door with a crazy knob.

Beautiful buildings in Pardubice old town square.

More gorgeous buildings!

The fountain in the center of town.

Probably our last trip down town.  Rain is looming so we will go get hot chocolate.

Cafe Bajer in the square.

Gabi and her mom.

Now....THIS.... is hot chocolate!  A delicious jelly filled wafer, whipped cream on the side (and some Baileys).  The hot chocolate here is like a thin hot fudge sauce that you eat with a spoon.  It is semi sweet and tastes like a melted chocolate candy bar.  YUM!

Having our hot chocolate.

The stuffs enjoyed some too.
Gabi with her sister and nephews.  They have very graciously let me stay with them all week.  Thank you!
