Photos of Prague Castle

Photos by the gates of Prague Castle.

Saint Vitus Cathedral at Prague Castle.

These are a little out of order because Gabi and I both took photos.  This is on Golden Lane.  We went there after the Cathedral.

This photo was taken at the end of the whole walk through the castle.  We are at the end of the primary castle grounds overlooking all of Prague.

Guard at the front gates.

The entrance to the castle.

Entrance to the Cathedral.

The stained glass was exquisite.  I didn't post all of them.

The pulpit.  When Gabi was younger on a school trip she got to go up in it.

The Cathedral.

People are laid to rest inside the castle.  This is not the oldest one but this is 1253-1278 for dates.  They are all in alcoves around the main cathedral.

New bells that were just finished, waiting to be hung.

Ferdinand I and Maximillian II The Hapsburg kings.

Coat of Arms mosaic on the wall in the cathedral.

Saint Wenceslas is laid to rest here.

Changing of the guard.

Basilica of Saint George, built in the 10th century.

Extremely old tombstones in the Basilica.

The remains of Saint  Ludmila, grandmother of St. Wenceslas.

Beautiful manhole cover that says.   Prague sewer.

Golden Lane- This is where the professionals for the royal family lived.  These small homes were not open when Gabi lived here.  They were very fun to look at.  I posted a few of the rooms and homes below.

This was the herbalists home.

Heading up stairs to see the armor and swords and shields.

Pub and brewery.

Historians old movies.

Some doors were huge and some were tiny!

Another view of the Cathedral on our way out.

Gabi and I were fascinated with the doors.  This one was huge.  Very ornate.
